Craigavon Industrial Development Organisation (CIDO) will focus on strengthening the journey from start-up to sustainable business for the remainder of 2026, with an emphasis on developing programmes that provide continuous support as entrepreneurs progress. By addressing gaps between early-stage engagement and long-term growth, CIDO aims to ensure businesses are supported at every stage of their development.
This forward focus builds on a landmark year in 2025, when CIDO celebrated 40 years of impact since its establishment in 1985. Over four decades, the organisation has played a vital role in driving wealth creation, entrepreneurship and employment across the Craigavon area, supporting generations of start-ups and small businesses under the guidance of a dedicated voluntary board.
During the year, CIDO successfully delivered the Go Succeed programme, providing tailored mentoring, training, and guidance to support both business start-up and growth. The team also worked closely with individuals to secure start-up loans, enabling new business creation and contributing directly to local economic development.
CIDO
CIDO achieved full occupancy across its sites in Carn and Lurgan, as well as at the CIDO Innovation Centre, reflecting strong demand for high-quality enterprise space. This was complemented by continued growth in virtual office services and expanded conference and hot-desking facilities, reinforcing CIDO’s role as a flexible and accessible hub for business support.
In addition, planning permission was secured for the development of new light industrial units, delivering 6,000 square feet of much-needed space and helping to address a critical shortage of suitable premises for growing businesses in the area.
Antony Jackson, Chief Executive, CIDO, said: “Our 40-year milestone in 2025 was an opportunity to reflect on the lasting impact CIDO has had in supporting entrepreneurs, businesses and the wider economy across the Craigavon area. From helping individuals access start-up finance to providing high-quality workspace and mentoring, our focus has always been on enabling sustainable business growth.
“We recognise the importance of supporting businesses beyond the early stages. Ensuring there is a clear, continuous pathway from start-up through to established enterprise is critical in preventing businesses from losing momentum as they grow.
“By strengthening our programmes, expanding our facilities and continuing to respond to demand, we are committed to providing the right support at the right time; helping businesses not only start, but succeed and scale over the long term.”
