Greens
This is the name given to the green betting chips that are valued at 25 credits.
H
High Bet
An outside bet that consists of numbers 19 to 36, all covered with one wager. If any numbers between 19 and 36 win the round, the player will be awarded a payout of 1:1.
Hot Table
This is a term given to a table if players seem to be on a ‘winning streak’ and there hasn’t been any ‘no win’ rounds in a while. It’s easier to tell when a table is ‘hot’ when the game is being played a land-based casino establishment, or live online, than it is for a digital online game.
House Edge
This is the term given to the mathematical edge the casino has on any given bet. You normally see ‘house edge’ written within the terms and conditions and the ‘how to play’ sections of an online game.
I
Impair
A French term for ‘odd bet’. An odd bet is when a player places a wager in the ‘odd’ box, which covers all odd numbers found on the wheel, except for the zero(s) at play.
Inside Bet
When a bet is placed within the central, numbered portion of the grid and table layout, it is known as an inside bet. These bets carry different payout amounts, all determined by which inside bet you place upon the table.
L
Low Bet
An outside bet that consists of numbers 1 to 18, all covered with one wager. If any numbers between 1 and 18 win the round, the player will be awarded a payout of 1:1.
M
Manque
A French term for ‘low bet’. See ‘Low Bet’ for more details.
Money at Risk
This is a phrase used to describe the money that has been placed down on the table as a wager. Your wager is at risk of being lost until the result of the game is announced – it is here where you’ll then know if your money has been lost or you have gained.
N
Noir
A French term for ‘black bet’. A black bet is when a wager is placed within the outside bet section of the layout that covers all black sections of the iconic Roulette wheel. A black bet is an even money bet with a 1:1 payout.
