Mark Prentice has been appointed as Commercial Director at The Copeland Distillery. He will be responsible for all sales and marketing activities for the company’s growing portfolio of whiskey, rum and gin products.

Mark brings a wealth of experience to the Distillery having successfully built and development brands and businesses across Ireland and Northern Ireland in various sectors including FMCG, energy and healthcare services. Mark was previously Managing Director at firmus energy and the Retail Director at Bord Gáis Energy. He joins the business having recently departed AA Ireland, where he was Chief Commercial Officer and Deputy CEO.

Mark has been working with The Copeland Distillery since it was founded in 2015, supporting founder and CEO, Gareth Irvine in the early stages of developing the business, and he had been a Non-Executive Director since 2017.

Mark commented: “Having been involved with Gareth since ideation, I’m delighted to be able to join The Copeland Distillery as Commercial Director. It’s a really exciting stage as the business has experienced impressive growth, particularly over the last year and the portfolio now includes a premium core range including gin and rum, and the newest addition, Merchants’ Quay Whiskey.

“I look forward to supporting the business both across the UK and Ireland but also internationally. The Copeland Distillery already has a loyal customer base across Europe and in Australia and we see great potential in new markets such as the US and Asia.”
