Riverside McDonald’s in Coleraine re-opens following an £850,000 makeover

The McDonald’s restaurant at Riverside Park East in Coleraine has re-opened following an £850,000 investment.

The major cash injection in the new-look McDonald’s has created 20 additional jobs in Coleraine, bringing the total number employed at the restaurant to 160.

Upgrades to the restaurant include a new kitchen design and a larger customer area with 120 seats, helping to deliver a seamless, faster and more efficient experience for customers and crew.

The new kitchen design will see a bigger order assembly area that will allow extra capacity for crew to undertake more orders and serve more quickly than ever before. Improvements have also been made to the crew member room to create a more relaxing and comfortable space for employees.

The restaurant is led by Franchisee Bruce Baillie, who also operates the second McDonald’s restaurant in Coleraine on the Ring Road. Across both restaurants, Mr Baillie and McDonald’s now support 280 jobs in the local economy.

“At McDonald’s, we are passionate about feeding and fostering the communities we serve, and we are looking forward to welcoming our customers back to the new and improved Riverside restaurant so they can experience the new changes first-hand,” Bruce said.

“Our job is to ensure that every experience is a great one for customers and crew. These upgrades will help us deliver a quicker, more seamless and more convenient experience for all.”

“As a local business owner, creating opportunities for people in the local area and sustaining jobs within the community is one of my top priorities,” he added.

“This investment ensures we can continue providing a modern, welcoming restaurant for our customers while supporting employment and skills development for our crew members, most of whom live locally.”

There are currently 36 McDonald’s restaurants across Northern Ireland, all of which are owned by nine local independent Franchisees.
