Eva Grosman, Curator of TEDxStormont Summer Camp said: “This year has been unprecedented and unusual on many levels, with the uncertainty of the pandemic looming large over everyone. TEDxStormont Summer Camp is a fantastic opportunity for people to come together to learn and be creative in an online environment, and to escape the stresses and anxiety of the current health crisis.”

“Each year TEDxStormont grows and expands bringing people from all walks of life to the red dot to share their inspiring ideas. When planning this year’s event, we wanted to make sure it was bigger and better than ever. With an inclusive and exciting packed week of online events and activities including a daily coffee club, yoga sessions and the main TEDx stage slots with a thrilling line up of acclaimed speakers, there is something for everyone.”

She added: “We are thrilled to be joined by the Health Minister Robin Swann MLA and the former Secretary of State Rt Hon Julian Smith MP to our Fireside Chats to look at some of Northern Ireland’s most pressing issues such as the pandemic, new ideas to improve our health service, and the implementations of the New Decade, New Approach deal that brought back the NI Executive. We will also enthusiastically welcome back Professor Siobhan O’Neill who delivered an inspiring talk on mental health at TEDxStormont 2019. As Northern Ireland’s newly appointed Mental Health Champion, her vision and insight into our mental health future will be one not to miss.

“Covid-19 has presented a new way of life, with challenges but also opportunities. We now have a prospect of rebuilding our world in a better, fairer, more inclusive way. We believe passionately that the global TED community has a key role to play here. More than ever, we need to connect with each other and figure out how to build back better. TEDxStormont Summer Camp is the perfect platform for this conversation and collaboration to flow.”
