Co-Ownership has appointed finance professional Claire McAleenan as its new Director of Finance. As a Chartered Accountant with more than 25 years’ experience across financial and professional services, Claire will strengthen the organisation’s executive leadership team as it continues to provide an affordable route to home ownership in Northern Ireland.
Claire will oversee the organisation’s financial strategy, capital structure, and asset management, having led major finance transformation programmes within fast moving and complex organisations including PwC and NatWest plc. She also played a lead role in Ulster Bank’s Republic of Ireland exit programme and is a Non-Executive Director at the Northern Ireland Audit Office.
Commenting on her appointment, Claire said, “I believe deeply in the mission to make home ownership achievable for those who can’t do it alone and I look forward to playing my part in an organisation with so many people who are committed to delivering on that every single day.”
Co-Ownership is Northern Ireland’s only provider of shared ownership and is the Department for Communities delivery partner for 4,000 affordable homes by 2029. In 2024/25, the organisation supported 961 households into home ownership, representing a £161 million boost to the local property market.

Mark Graham, Chief Executive at Co-Ownership said, “We’re delighted to welcome Claire to Co-Ownership. She brings extensive financial experience, strong commercial insight and a strategic approach that will help support the organisation’s long-term success. Claire will be a valuable addition to our executive team, and we’re excited to have someone who understands both our business and the positive impact our work has on people’s lives.”
