Belfast International Airport has been rated ‘Very Good’ in the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) Airport Accessibility Report 2025/26, placing Northern Ireland’s largest airport among the top‑performing airports in the UK for the quality of assistance provided to disabled passengers and those with reduced mobility.
The rating comes as demand for accessibility support reaches its highest level on record. In 2025, 120,000 passengers used assistance services at Belfast International airports — an increase of 8% on the previous year.
The CAA’s findings highlight Belfast International Airport’s strong and consistent performance, reaffirming its position as a leading provider of high‑quality assistance services. The airport continues to invest in accessible facilities, staff training and service enhancements as part of its wider £100 million investment programme to modernise infrastructure and improve the passenger experience.

One of the most significant recent improvements is the creation of a new dedicated accessible car park, designed to substantially enhance the travel experience for passengers who require additional assistance. The new facility provides a long‑term solution to rising demand and ensures guaranteed availability of spaces for passengers with accessibility needs.
Una McKeown, Airport Operations Manager said, “We are extremely proud to once again be recognised by the Civil Aviation Authority as a ‘Very Good’ airport for accessibility. It reflects the commitment of our teams and our delivery partner OCS and reinforces our commitment to continually improving accessibility as we transform the passenger experience.”
