Women working together is the key to our success – Victoria Fraser, Fraser Partners :

Along with my brothers Andrew and James, we founded Fraser Partners last year with the ambition to build life-long and healthy homes for people. And we’re doing it.

Whilst I’ve grown up in this industry and I’m lucky to have my brothers beside me in my career to lean on, today on International Women’s Day, I’m thanking the inspiring and creative women that have supported me in my career, and those I’ve been able to look up to as role models.

Of course it has been difficult at times working in a male-dominated industry. It’s hard not to feel intimidated but that’s what drives you. I feel so proud seeing how far I’ve come and what as a company we’ve created.

On International Women’s Day I look to the females that inspire me. My mum is a very strong woman who consistently challenges herself. She motivates me to want to put myself out of my comfort zone through many avenues in my life. In the face of challenges, she always taught me to be courageous and compassionate. She always believed that I could do anything I wanted to do. She never thought that because I was a woman I couldn’t excel in this industry.

While I’ve learned a lot recently about creating a business and establishing our own voice, there’s also one principle that I’ve been reminded of many times by many other women over the years – and that’s that relationships are key.

How we treat each other, how we lift each other up, how we learn from women business leaders before us – it’s all a part of creating and building robust relationships.

Those relationships help us to build trust between one another, to better collaborate, problem solve and create increasingly innovative ideas. They allow us to work with and for each other, introduce us to people and opportunities that otherwise may have been out of reach, and establish loyal networks of women to depend on.

From the initial concept of Fraser Partners to the opening of our show home recently at Ardmillan, and at Mealough in May, I’ve never failed to be impressed by the forward-thinking, entrepreneurial and dynamic women that have all helped to bring our projects to life.

So, I’ve promised myself that throughout 2023, as a resolution for this year’s International Women’s Day, I’m going to continue building those relationships and making new ones as it’s clear to me that when we champion each other, everyone wins.
