TLI Group embraces Esri’s Location Intelligence Technology

Esri Ireland, the market leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), has announced that Esri’s ArcGIS  technology is underpinning the delivery of critical infrastructure projects across Ireland for TLI Group.

TLI Group designs, builds and maintains power, renewable energy, smart energy services and telecommunications infrastructure across Ireland. As the business expanded, the company required a digital platform that could support future growth and diverse large-scale infrastructure projects. Using Esri’s ArcGIS technology, TLI Group has created a connected digital system that supports and streamlines operations right across the business.

Operational teams across the organisation now use the online platform and mapping technology, with multiple users working in the field through mobile applications. It is being used across several major infrastructure projects, including the delivery of the national broadband using the technology is its company-wide “Near-Miss, Good-Catch” reporting platform, which allows team members to instantly report potential safety risks using mobile devices.

Managers receive immediate alerts about potential risks and can monitor trends or patterns through live dashboards. TLI Group now captures and reviews multiple digital health and safety reports every week, helping to strengthen safety standards across multi-disciplinary operations.

Paul Sweeney, GIS and Data Manager, TLI Group, said: “ArcGIS gives us a lot of off-the-shelf functionality, as well as the flexibility to build the GIS services we need on a project-by-project basis. This is all without bespoke code or the need for a supplementary development budget.

“The platform gives our teams instant access to information both in the field and in the office, helping staff work more efficiently and make faster decisions. Having live data available through mobile apps means teams can instantly identify and quickly risk assess any issues that arise. At TLI Group, safety is a core company value, and by making it easier for employees to report potential risks, the technology has had a positive impact on health and safety and helped us build a stronger safety culture across the organisation.”

Jack French, Account Manager, Esri Ireland, said: “TLI Group’s success demonstrates how organisations can modernise operations and manage increasingly complex projects more effectively using location intelligence. Since its implementation, TLI Group has improved how information is collected and used across the organisation, streamlining processes and saving time and resources.

“Providing teams with access to real-time data has created greater visibility across critical infrastructure projects, replacing manual and time-consuming tasks and freeing up employees to focus on core value add business activities. New agile and efficient processes have established the flexible and scalable foundations for sustained business success as TLI Group continues to grow and evolve across the infrastructure industry”
