Power NI launches commercial solar partnership with Ohk Energy

Northern Ireland’s electricity supplier Power NI has expanded its renewable energy offering with the launch of a new commercial solar installation service.

In partnership with Ohk Energy – one of Ireland’s leading renewable energy specialists – the new initiative is designed to help businesses and farms across Northern Ireland reduce their reliance on grid electricity, lower operating costs, and take meaningful steps towards their sustainability goals through the installation of commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

The partnership combines Power NI’s trusted energy expertise with Ohk Energy’s extensive experience both designing and delivering renewable energy solutions for commercial, industrial and agricultural customers across the island of Ireland.

Commenting on the launch, William Steele, Director of Customer Solutions at Power NI, said: “Businesses are increasingly looking for practical ways to manage energy costs while improving their environmental performance.

“Through our partnership with Ohk Energy, we are making it easier for organisations across Northern Ireland to access high-quality solar solutions that can deliver long-term savings and support their decarbonisation ambitions.

“As the energy landscape continues to evolve, we want to be more than just an energy supplier. We aim to be a trusted partner, helping businesses and farms navigate their energy transition journey with solutions that deliver real value,” added William.

Commercial solar systems enable organisations to generate their own renewable electricity on-site, helping to reduce electricity expenditure and exposure to future energy price volatility. Solar technology can also support wider sustainability objectives, helping businesses reduce carbon emissions while demonstrating environmental leadership.

Conor Foley, CEO of Ohk Energy, said: “We are delighted to partner with Power NI to bring commercial solar solutions to businesses and farms throughout Northern Ireland.

“Organisations are increasingly seeking greater energy independence and certainty over their energy costs, and solar can play a key role in achieving those objectives.

“By combining our renewable energy expertise with Power NI’s trusted brand and customer service, we look forward to helping even more organisations benefit from clean, locally generated electricity.”
