Power NI and NOW Group Celebrate Success of New Trainees

After completing a ten-week Data Analytics and Basic Coding Academy delivered by Northern Ireland’s leading electricity provider, Power NI, part of Energia Group, 10 NOW Group participants received a certificate for completing the bespoke OCN endorsed course in Data Analysis and Computer Programming.

The participants spent two and a half months with Power NI’s Billing Operations team, giving them the opportunity to learn key workplace skills whilst getting practical hands-on experience, with the aim of building confidence for their future careers.

Gillian McCaughtry, Director of Customer Experience at Power NI, commended the achievements of the participants and said: “It has been wonderful to watch the development of the apprentices throughout the ten weeks of the Academy. We are delighted to provide training and skills through the programme, aiding a transition into working life and a well-supported career for participants.

“At Power NI, accessibility and inclusivity are so important to us, and we’ve worked closely with NOW Group for quite some time to provide specialist training to our staff to support customers who may have learning difficulties or autism.”

Clare Jordan, Employment Development Manager, at the NOW Group commented: “The completion of this course is an outstanding achievement for the participants. This programme has not only equipped them with valuable skills but has also helped them to pursue meaningful employment opportunities.”

Among the success stories is Ciaran Moore, who now serves as a Trainee Reporting Developer with the Power NI. Ciaran’s journey illustrates the effectiveness of the programme in bridging the gap between training and employment opportunities.

NOW Group provides a wide range of services that support people with learning difficulties and autism, helping them to realise their full potential. This support takes the form of employment support, training, and volunteering.
