Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has advised Capital Dynamics on the acquisition of a subsidy-free onshore wind project from ABO Wind NI Ltd.

Capital Dynamics, an independent global private asset management firm, acquired the onshore wind farm site through its European Clean Energy Infrastructure business. Construction at the 23.1 megawatt Castlegore Wind Farm site is expected to commence later this year.

This purchase expands Capital Dynamics portfolio of onshore wind farms in the UK and enhances its position as one of the largest independent buyers of subsidy-free renewable energy projects in Europe. This deal follows the acquisition completed earlier this month of a solar facility in Spain.

Commenting on the deal, Belfast based Legal Director, Michael Hamill said: “It was great to work with the company again. The acquisition supports their commitment to the country’s decarbonisation program and demonstrates the availability of high-quality, pre-construction wind assets in Northern Ireland.”
