Having already helped over 1,000 people secure the mortgage needed to receive the keys to a place that they can call their own, the local mortgage advisor is set to assist dozens more unlock the doors to their own place this Spring.

The free to attend first time buyer and mover information event, which will take place in the House Proud Furniture showroom in Newtownabbey, is the fourth time that Marney Magee has curated a panel of experts willing to volunteer their time to help those in their local community know what to do to get themselves into the right position to achieve a mortgage offer.

Marney Magee, founder of Magee Mortgage Solutions said: “Over the past nine years running my own business, I have seen more and more people fail in their goal to own their own home because of simple mistakes and errors of judgement. People don’t know what they don’t know and they don’t necessarily know how to prepare themselves to be a good mortgage applicant, that’s where this event comes in, I have sourced experienced experts for every part of the home purchasing journey, local professionals who are willing, like me, to share everything needed so that more people can avoid the common pitfalls.”

She adds: “Home ownership brings stability to many families across Northern Ireland, with the rising costs of just about everything the lack of affordable housing really can take its toll, especially when renters are given notice to quit. Often there simply isn’t another suitable house or flat to be found and the home moving process is quoted as being one of the most stressful things someone can do in their lifetime.

“I’ve helped a number of renters, who lived in numerous different homes over the last few years to purchase the home they were renting as the landlords have moved to put them on the market rather than continue renting them out. Often the new mortgage is cheaper than the rent will be on a new lease, but people need to know their options.”

The Magee Mortgage Solutions First Time Buyer and Mover Information Evening will take place inside House Proud Furniture, Newtownabbey at 7.30pm on the first day of Spring – Thursday 20 March 2025. Tickets are available online and one lucky attendee will win a £500 House Proud gift voucher to put towards furniture for their new home.
