Committed to enriching the local community, Kingspan, a global leader in high-performance insulation and building envelope solutions with a Water and Energy division based in Portadown, has donated £6,000 to Cancer Fund for Children, and has confirmed the renewal of the charity partnership for 2024.
As one of the largest employers in the area with over 400 members of staff, Kingspan Water and Energy raised funds for the local charity through multiple employee led initiatives throughout the year from a bake off challenge and barbeques to running the Belfast City team marathon and the Castlewellan Bog Run. A group from the team also volunteered their time to paint and decorate Cancer Fund for the Children’s Daisy Lodge, freshening up an area that aims to give families impacted by cancer the opportunity to spend quality time together.
The partnership with Cancer Fund for Children is the latest initiative for Kingspan, which has already conducted a clean-up of the River Bann, clearing over 30kg of rubbish from a section of the river, and awarded over £84,000 to amateur athletes, sports clubs and facilities located across Ireland through its Kickstart Sports Fund, as part of its CSR activity within the last year.
“Cancer Fund for Children is a fantastic charity that provides much needed support for young people and their families who are facing unimaginable difficulties, and we are privileged to announce that the partnership will continue in 2024,” Thomas Jefferson, Kingspan Head of Marketing – Energy Management said.
“We have lots more fundraising activities planned in the near future and we hope that the monies raised so far will go a long way to enabling Cancer Fund for Children to continue carrying out its essential work.
“At Kingspan, we endeavour to make a real difference to the local community and the lives of those within it, whether that’s through providing progressive employment opportunities, conducting charity work or supporting budding athletes and grassroots level sports.”
According to Lisa Hartle, Partnership and Philanthropy Executive from Cancer Fund for Children, the monies raised thus far will go towards supporting the charity’s vital services for children and young people.
