Good Food Fund Awarded £1,000 as Part of RM Dungannon’s Community Grants scheme.

Rubble Master Dungannon, which is part of the RM Group, has donated £1,000 to the Good Food Fund, as part of its Community Grants Scheme.

The Good Food Fund is the latest community initiative to receive funding from the Rubble Master community grant scheme, which was established last year. Local organisations who have also benefitted from the RM community fund include, Team Aspie, The Niamh Louise Foundation, and Coalisland Community Foodbank.

Founded with a mission to alleviate the impact of food insecurity, the initiative has been introduced by the responsible business network Business in the Community and aims to address children’s nutritional challenges in schools by supporting the creation or expansion of Breakfast Clubs, acquiring necessary appliances, or supplying classroom Grab and Go Baskets. The funds provided by Rubble Master will help to continue providing essential support to those in need within the community. The Good Food Fund is a valuable community initiative that addresses issues relating to food security and access to nutritious meals.

Gareth Williamson, Head of Membership at Business in the Community Northern Ireland said: “We recognise the tough situation many families currently face due to the increasing cost of living. Many children are struggling to get sufficient good food and primary schools report that children are going to and from school hungry. The implications stretch beyond the nutritional aspect and also affect punctuality to school, mental health and the ability of children to focus in class.
