A new production by members of Omagh-based Skyzdalimit titled ‘Coast to Coast’ will take centre stage this summer with support from Ireland’s top energy provider, Energia.
The one-night performance at the Strule Arts Centre will celebrate creativity, diversity and community, with the show featuring all-new stage props purchased through the funding.
Established eleven years ago, Skyzdalimit Omagh delivers dance, drama, singing and creative wellbeing activities for both adults and children, with a strong focus on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for people with disabilities or additional needs.
Its work blends the arts with inclusion and personal development, helping participants build confidence, social skills, and independence through classes and performances.

The community group received the £300 Energia funding after being nominated by James McBrearty through the energy company’s ‘Helping Hands’ initiative – a long-running and successful charitable programme designed to support local impactful organisations.
“Skyzdalimit is an inclusive drama group for individuals with autism or physical and learning disabilities, promoting diversity and individuality in our local community. The cast are supported throughout the year to learn their roles, music and dance, mostly by volunteers who give up their valuable time to support each member,” explained James.
“On Friday June 26th, the cast are going to perform an amazing show in their local arts theatre where family members and close friends are set to come together to watch this unique performance from an incredible cast with individual talents on stage,” he added.
The donation promises to enhance the visual and creative elements of the Coast to Coast performance and help bring the group’s latest show to life for those who go to watch it.
To date, Energia’s Helping Hands initiative has donated tens of thousands of pounds to organisations right across Northern Ireland like Skyzdalimit, helping them continue their important work in communities across the region.
