2026 will be a landmark year for Carrickfergus Enterprise as it celebrates 45 years of supporting local businesses and driving economic development, while investing in expanded facilities and sector-focused skills programmes. With new infrastructure, targeted academies and continued growth of its enterprise networks, the organisation is building on strong foundations to support even more entrepreneurs and employers across the borough.
In 2025, Carrickfergus Enterprise successfully delivered a Tourism Academy as part of Go Succeed, equipping individuals with the skills, confidence and industry insight needed to access opportunities within the tourism sector. The programme marked a significant step in strengthening local capability within a key growth industry and enhancing employment pathways for participants.
Another major milestone was securing approval for the installation of 12 new office pods, extending the provision of office accommodation onsite and increasing overall capacity to support more businesses locally. Installation of the pods is planned for later in 2026, alongside refurbishment works within the Phase 3 building to further enhance the infrastructure available for businesses to start and scale.
The Enterprising Women network also continued to thrive, growing to 160 members during 2025. Multiple events sold out throughout the year, reflecting strong demand for peer support, collaboration and tailored engagement opportunities for women entrepreneurs in the area.

Looking ahead, Carrickfergus Enterprise has successfully tendered for a Hospitality Academy funded by LMP. At a time when the hospitality sector faces ongoing challenges and negative press, the Academy represents a proactive investment in skills development and sector resilience, providing practical support within an industry that remains vital to the local economy.
A special milestone in 2026 will also see CEO Kelli McRoberts celebrate 28 years with Carrickfergus Enterprise, alongside 30 years working within the enterprise sector, reflecting longstanding leadership, commitment and deep experience that continues to shape the organisation’s impact.
