KPMG has launched its search for the island of Ireland’s next top tech innovator. Now in its third year, the all-island KPMG Global Tech Innovator competition is open to tech entrepreneurs and start-up businesses which are pure technology, tech-enabled, tech-led, or tech-driven.

Shortlisted entrants to the KPMG Global Tech Innovator will be invited to pitch their innovations and present their growth ambitions to a panel of judges, including successful entrepreneurs and investors.

The KPMG Private Enterprise Global Tech Innovator competition is a unique chance for our tech innovators to introduce the world to their innovations and could provide the fillip needed to take their business to the next level.

The overall winner from across the island of Ireland will progress to the Global Tech Innovator final to be held during Web Summit 2023 in Lisbon in November. The prize also includes travel and accommodation to Lisbon, tickets to Web Summit as part of KPMG’s delegation, an exhibition stand for one day, and access to exclusive networking events and mentoring opportunities.
Last year, the island of Ireland’s KPMG Global Tech Innovator entrant Provizio, fronted by Limerick man Barry Lunn, won the regional competition and came third overall at the global final in Lisbon. Northern Ireland was represented in the island of Ireland final last year by cybersecurity firm ANGOKA, while in 2021 agri-tech firm CattleEye represented the region at the final in Lisbon.
Who can enter the KPMG Global Tech Innovator competition?
The competition is open to all technology companies which have operated for five years or less, have generated revenue between USD $1-10m (or have raised at least $500,000 in equity) and are registered and based in Ireland or Northern Ireland. Applicants to the KPMG Global Tech Innovator must have innovative, proven technologies, robust business models, the ability to demonstrate traction in their activities and the potential to scale up.
Applications must be submitted by 30 May 2023 and all entrants must be available to appear in-person for the Ireland final, which will be held in Dublin on 27 June 2023.
The global competition will include technology innovators from 22 other countries and regions including Australia, Brazil, China, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ghana, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Southern Africa, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam.

About the KPMG Private Enterprise Global Tech Innovator competition
The inaugural KPMG Private Enterprise Global Tech Innovator Competition was introduced in 2021, to build upon KPMG in the UK’s Best British Tech Pioneer competition. In the first year of the global competition, 17 countries in major regions of the world participated in the competition. In 2022, the competition grew to include 22 countries and jurisdictions from both mature and emerging markets.
Companies from the start-up to growth stages were invited to enter the KPMG Global Tech Innovator and pitch their innovations and present their growth ambitions to panels of local and global industry experts for the opportunity to be recognized as a leading technology innovator in their country and ultimately on the global stage.
