Belfast artist Maria Liddy has launched a new collection of landscape abstract paintings. Known as The Promise of Dawn, it will be shown in The Hallows Gallery on the Ormeau Road in the city on Saturday 24th May from 12:00pm. Maria Liddy’s vibrant and expressive landscapes have quickly gained recognition since her debut at The Hallows Gallery in 2024.
Primarily working with palette knives in oils and acrylics, Liddy draws inspiration from her hiking adventures and the surrounding natural beauty of the Irish landscape. Her bold, saturated use of colour and dynamic texture breathe energy and emotion into each piece. “In a time that often feels fractured and uncertain, Liddy offers us a striking visual language of hope and renewal.
Using a warm, sunlit palette, her work captures the transformative energy of dawn — a reminder that light always breaks through the dark,” she said.
