Allstate Northern Ireland is celebrating 25 years in the North West, marking a milestone that reflects a quarter century of investment, innovation and opportunity in the region.
The company’s presence has played an important role in establishing the North West as a recognised centre for technology and engineering excellence. Alongside creating hundreds of high-quality jobs, Allstate has invested heavily in developing local talent, strengthening links with education and supporting community organisations across the region.
The company’s commitment to the North West entered a new chapter in 2024 with the opening of its new Derry office, providing a modern, collaborative workspace designed to support continued innovation and future growth.
In 2025, Allstate launched the North West Digital Hub and Future Innovators Competition, helping inspire the next generation of digital talent. Six pilot schools received funding for cutting-edge digital equipment to improve digital literacy and give pupils practical experience with emerging technologies. The initiative demonstrates Allstate’s continued commitment to building a strong technology pipeline for the future.

Supporting the development of local talent has remained central to Allstate’s success in the North West. One example is Graduate Software Engineer Deirbhile Leonard, who has become one of Northern Ireland’s rising technology stars. Based in Derry, she received highly commended in the Young IT Professional of the Year category at the Belfast Telegraph IT Awards, was shortlisted for Rising Star of the Year at the UK Digital Revolution Awards, spoke at TechTides Youth 2025 and BelTech 2026, and most recently won the AI for Personalised Learning category at the inaugural AI in Education Awards at the Fifth National Conference on Generative Artificial Intelligence in Education.
The company has also become a longstanding supporter of the North West business community, having been shortlisted for Large Business of the Year at the North West Business Awards and continuing to champion innovation through its sponsorship of the Innovation and Technology Award.
Beyond technology and business, Allstate employees have made a significant contribution to communities across the North West through volunteering initiatives supporting organisations including Foyle Hospice and the North West 200, alongside many other local charities and community groups. Through the Allstate Force for Good committee, Allstate employees have also made a lasting impact by volunteering their time and supporting a wide range of local charitable and community initiatives across the North West.
