Health Matters Occupational Health (HMOH) has announced the appointment of Dr Gary Ferguson as Medical Director, marking a major milestone in the company’s growth and evolution. The appointment strengthens HMOH’s clinical capability, enhances governance, and accelerates the way complex workplace health decisions are made.

Dr Ferguson is a Consultant and Accredited Specialist in Occupational Medicine (MFOM) with more than 16 years of clinical experience across Northern Ireland and mainland UK. Before specialising in occupational medicine, he worked in general practice with a strong interest in workplace health. His expertise spans both public and private sectors, including healthcare, education, emergency services, local government, construction, manufacturing, and SMEs.

A recognised leader in his field, Dr Gary Ferguson delivers the full spectrum of occupational health services—from complex case management and fitness-for-work assessments to ill-health retirement reviews, health surveillance, and workplace health promotion.

As Medical Director, he will provide clinical leadership and governance across all HMOH services, ensuring the highest professional, ethical, and regulatory standards. Holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Leadership and a Master’s in Medical Education, Dr Ferguson combines deep clinical expertise with a passion for quality improvement, mentoring the growing clinical team and driving innovation and strategic growth across the business.
