5000 signed up to LQ BID’s Reward Card Scheme

There are now 5,000 people signed up to LQ BID’s Linen Live Reward Scheme – an initiative launched in June this year, that aims to make the Linen Quarter as vibrant and rewarding a place to work as possible, and deliver value for businesses in the area.

Sam Purnell, Music Data Administrator at On Music, became the 5000th person to receive his card. He said, “I work in the Linen Quarter, so having access to offers at nearby places is a really useful perk, and in many ways, it encourages me to make more use of the places on our doorstep.”

Since launching with just 20 offers at the end of June, the scheme has doubled its offering in just four months, with 40 discounts and benefits now available across a growing range of businesses. With 5,000 cards now issued, LQ BID is continuing to work with its partners to develop new ways for the Linen Quarter to remain one of the city’s most dynamic and exciting districts, with offers including 15% off at Linenhall Bar and discounts at Euro Car Parks and Puddleducks Day Nursery. Investment in the area’s built environment is also continuing at pace, with the opening of a new ‘Let’s go Padel’ at Weaver’s Cross where members of the scheme receive priority booking and 10% off.

Chris McCracken, Managing Director at LQ BID said, “Reaching this milestone of 5,000 is very exciting. It means 5,000 people who work in the Linen Quarter now have yet another reason to enjoy the area a little more – be it during lunch, after work, or even over the weekend.

It is more than just about discounts, we want people to enjoy coming to the Linen Quarter to discover new places and meet new people. From pizza-making experiences at Fratelli to a weekly running club, these initiatives are helping to build a stronger sense of community within one of Belfast’s busiest districts.

This has been a really successful initiative that taps into our wider ambition to strengthen the Linen Quarter’s reputation as the place where business and pleasure meet.”

With thousands of people working in the Linen Quarter every day, the initiative forms part of LQ BID’s wider strategy to connect the spending power of local workers with hospitality businesses, retailers and services on their doorstep, supporting the economy while helping workers make their money go further.

The Linen Live Reward Card is free and remains available to individuals who work within the Linen Quarter.
