easyJet has launched the first flight on a new summer route to Mahon on the Balearic Island of Menorca, providing customers in Northern Ireland with a direct connection to another of Europe’s favourite beach destinations and greater choice to explore more of Europe this summer.
The first flight to Menorca took off yesterday evening. The new service is now operating up to twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer season until 29 October 2022.
The tranquil island of Menorca is known for its endless beaches, and is rich in history, cultural monuments, and architectural wonders. The capital, Mahon, stretches along the shore of one of the largest natural ports in the Mediterranean Sea and offers delicious local cuisine, quaint alleyways, colourful markets and is host to vibrant festivals and fiestas throughout the summer.
Flights are available to book on easyJet.com and via the app, with fares starting from just £24.99*.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: “We are delighted to have launched our first flights from Belfast International Airport to Menorca for the summer, providing more choice for our customers in Northern Ireland to explore or relax in some of Europe’s most beautiful destinations. We are proud to be the largest airline in Northern Ireland and to serve our customers from Belfast with even more choice and great value fares, with our flying set to return to near 2019 levels this summer.”
Uel Hoey, Business Development Director said, “We have continued to work closely with our airline partners as travel restrictions have eased and are delighted that easyJet have included Menorca as an additional point on their Belfast network. Menorca is a popular choice for families and will provide further options for local holidaymakers direct from Belfast.”
The airline continues to be the largest carrier serving Northern Ireland, operating over 30 routes across Belfast International Airport and Belfast City George to over 15 destinations to Europe.
