Belfast’s Linen Quarter is set to burst into life on Friday 19 September as part of this year’s Culture Night, with a packed programme of free events ranging from live music and dance to street performance, history tours and even wrestling.

Linen Quarter BID, which represents over 350 businesses across the district, has curated a diverse line-up designed to showcase the best of Belfast’s culture, creativity, and community spirit.

Highlights include:

Pétanque at Blackstaff Square (3.00pm-7.00pm) – Have a go at the French boules game that has become a summer favourite with local workers.
Spinning Yarns Walking Tour (3.00pm-5.00pm) – A guided tour outside the Ulster Hall exploring the rich history, heritage and stories of the district.
Tiny Groovers Dance Extravaganza (4.00pm-7.00pm, Grosvenor House) – A family-friendly session for children aged 0–5, led by Puddleducks Nursery.
Past, Present and Future of Belfast Transport (4.00pm–5.30pm, Pug Uglys Bar) – Historian Mike Maybin and Translink showcase Belfast’s tram and trolleybus history with rare archive footage and insights into future plans.
Belfast Street Performers & Canadian Cornroast (4.00pm-10.00pm, Flaxx Deck, Brunswick Street) – A collection of world-class performers curated by Belfast Buskers alongside free samples from the incoming Flaxx Container Kitchen – The Dep.
Boom Strutt Brass Band (4.00pm-6.00pm, roaming Linen Quarter) – Roaming live music bringing high-energy brass sounds to the streets.
HALT-er Skelter: A Night at the Fair (4.00pm-8.00pm, HALT) – A mini street fair with circus acts, tarot readings, face painting, live music, caricatures, and food stalls.
NI Ulster Touring Opera (5.20pm, 5.50pm, 6.20pm, Belfast Grand Central Station) – Blink and you’ll miss them! Captivating pop-up Opera performances.
Titanic Wrestling (5.00pm-9.00pm, Grand Central Station) – Live wrestling every half hour with Titanic Wrestlers.
Rock Choir (5.00pm-7.00pm, Grand Central Station) – A stirring live choir to welcome visitors to the district.
Rooms of the Unspoken (4.00pm-10.00pm, UNTOLD: The Museum, Bedford Street) – Visuals and music by Martin Della Vecchia.
NOW Group Culture Night (5.30pm-7.30pm, The Hive) – Arts, crafts and fandom fun with the NOW Group.
