Furniture specialist Sliderobes, headquartered in Belfast, has invested ‘significantly’ in a fully refurbished Dublin showroom as part of the company’s 40th birthday celebrations.
Sliderobes was established in Ireland by Michael McAleese in 1983 when it opened its first showrooms in Belfast and Dublin, introducing high quality and stylish ‘made to measure’ sliding wardrobes to the NI and ROI markets.
Now a household name and the biggest sliding door manufacturer in Ireland, Sliderobes creates and installs a state-of-the-art range of bespoke furniture and storage solutions across 12 locations in the UK and Ireland.

In 2016, the Sliderobes Group was acquired by Northern Ireland businessmen Mervyn McCall and Paul Rothwell and two years later, its flagship Belfast showroom at Boucher Crescent showroom became the first to unveil Sliderobes’ ‘Design Studio’ concept which gives customers an opportunity to meet with designers, explore samples and use the latest 3D and Virtual Reality software to visualise how fitted furniture will look in their home.
The ‘Design Studio’ concept is also a key feature of the new Dublin showroom – a 4000sqft space at the Red Cow Retail Centre in Ballymount that has undergone a full refurbishment to highlight Sliderobes’ extensive range of modern interior design and storage solutions.
Customers will be able to walk through 10 different room sets showing a variety of bespoke fitted furniture options – from traditional sliding bedroom wardrobes and walk-in spaces to fitted living room, dining room, home office and media units.

Our versatility of our products has stood the test of time, having fitted over 100,000 wardrobes over the years – with no two ever the same.
“As our brand and market share has grown across Ireland in recent years, we knew it was time to invest in a renovation that perfectly demonstrates how we’ve evolved as a brand since then,” he added.
“Our Head of Design, Joanna Azevedo and the team in Dublin have done an excellent job of creating a showroom that perfectly marries design and storage solutions.”
Sliderobes’ operations in the Republic of Ireland are run by the Bowe family, whose late father Denis Snr took over the reins 34 years ago.
Sliderobes Ireland Managing Director David Bowe said the new showroom is already proving a huge hit with customers.
“We’re absolutely delighted with the showroom renovation,” said David. “It’s a great representation of who we are as a brand and perfectly shows off our variety of fitted furniture products.
“The customers we’ve had through the doors have all been blown away by the designs. It really shows them the quality of the Sliderobes product up close and helps give them a feel for how we can transform their space. We’re extremely excited about where this will take us as a business.”
Sliderobes’ Head of Design Joanna Azevedo explained the concept behind the new showroom.
“With the renovation of the Dublin Showroom, we wanted to create an amazing experience for customers from the moment they walk through the door,” said Joanna.
“The aim was to create a penthouse apartment feel, with bedroom, living room, dining and dressing room sets – all carefully designed to display Sliderobes’ beautiful collection of colours, finishes and mechanisms,” she added.
“We also wanted to inspire customers with our design ideas as they make their way around.”
