As it launches its Appoint an Apprentice scheme for a fourth year, Jet2 has pledged its largest ever levy share fund after increasing its commitment to a record £1.5 million for 2026-2027.

The initiative enables key charity and independent travel agent partners, as well as suppliers, to recruit, develop and retain talent through apprenticeship training, directly supporting their growth and long-term success.

Appoint an Apprentice

Since launching the scheme in 2023, Jet2 has pledged over £3 million in levy funding to support partners. Following a phenomenal response to the initiative, Jet2 has increased its total apprenticeship funding for this financial year, with the company committing to a levy spend of £1.5 million in 2026-2027 – its largest ever amount!

The increase in funding will allow Jet2 to open-up the scheme to support more charities within the communities that it operates. In addition to financial support, Jet2 will continue to work closely with its charity and travel agent partners to provide mentorship, guidance and support, helping to maximise the impact of apprenticeship programmes.

RH Aero is one of the businesses that has benefited from the scheme, seeing three of its employees start an apprenticeship as a result of receiving funding from the levy share.

Sam Cottrell, an Engineering Support Assistant at RH Aero, is one of those apprentices. Commenting on his experience Sam said: “This apprenticeship is improving my technical knowledge and enabling me to progress into new technical roles, particularly as I joined HydroAero without an engineering background. I have studied maths, materials, and health and safety, which has helped me refresh prior knowledge from school while developing a new deeper understanding of engineering.

“The course has improved my knowledge of material properties, their applications and different testing methods as well as workplace health and safety requirements in other parts of the business rather than just in the office. This improvement of my technical understanding has also provided support with my typical daily tasks as well as allowing me to take on new roles in the future.”
