M&S Food Outlet Opens at Fourth Applegreen Location in Northern Ireland

A new M&S Food outlet has opened at Applegreen in Ballymena, offering customers a convenient way to enjoy their favourite M&S products on the go.

The opening marks the fourth M&S ‘shop within a shop’ concept with Applegreen in Northern Ireland since the island-wide partnership launched in late 2022. The concept has since expanded to 38 locations across the island of Ireland, with plans to grow to more than 60 in the medium term.

The “shop within a shop” concept brings more than 400 M&S Food products to the Ballymena location, including fresh fruit and salads, quality sandwiches, ready meals for lunch and dinner, sweet treats and everyday essentials. Popular M&S favourites such as Percy Pig sweets, M&S cookies and Colin the Caterpillar cakes will also be available in-store.

The Ballymena outlet will also offer M&S Click & Collect, allowing customers to order fashion, home and beauty items online and collect them at the Applegreen location at a time that suits them.

Eddie Murphy, Country Director for M&S in Ireland and Northern Ireland, said: “We are proud to continue expanding our partnership with Applegreen and bring M&S Food to another location in Northern Ireland. This rollout allows us to reach more customers, offering convenient ways to pick up M&S favourites on the go while delivering trusted value.”

Seamus Stapleton, Managing Director of Applegreen Ireland, commented: “The addition of M&S Food at Ballymena demonstrates our commitment to offering customers the best food and hospitality brands. M&S is a much-loved household name, and this partnership allows us to deliver a wider range of quality products and an even better experience for our customers on the road.”

The Ballymena opening follows previous openings of M&S Food outlets at Applegreen locations in Lisburn South, Lisburn North and Templepatrick.

Marks & Spencer opened its first outlet in Northern Ireland in 1967 and currently operates 22 stores across the region.

Applegreen, which started with a single outlet in Dublin in 1992, now has more than 435 locations in Ireland, the UK, and the United States and employs over 17,000 people.
