A pool of scholarship funding is currently available from Women & Leadership International for women to participate in a dedicated leadership development programme that has just launched in the UK.
The fee support opportunity is available to all women who are mid-level and new senior managers, and is administered by Women & Leadership International (WLI), a global women’s support initiative that has been operating in Australia, New Zealand and the USA for over 15 years.
Women can register their initial interest in the funding here: http://www.womenandleadership.org/register.html.
The seven-month, part-time course is internationally recognised and designed to stretch mid-level leaders in order to rapidly propel them towards executive level performance, behaviours and mindsets. Two cohorts will commence in June in London and Birmingham, and programme modules include Leading Innovation and Change, Communication, Presence and Influence and Driving Performance.
The limited pool of scholarship funding covers about 30% of the course fee and is subject to a set of selection criteria being met.
Suzi Finkelstein, Director of Leadership and Advocacy at WLI, said of their recent expansion, “We are delighted to be able to offer this type of professional leadership development opportunity to women in the UK for the first time in our 15 year history.
“We know that in the UK there is a persistent pay gap. Only 22% of senior management roles in the UK are held by women. Women in the UK make up only 9.8% of all executive directors, 6% of FTSE 100 CEO’s, 26% of cabinet ministers and 16.7% of supreme justices.
“This is despite the fact that 46.4% of women in the UK hold a tertiary qualification, compared with 45.5% of men. The Executive Ready programme provides a stepping stone for women in the workplace to develop their skills and take on leadership roles.”
WLI plans to continue to expand throughout the rest of 2019, with additional courses and networking events to be available in the near future.
Initial expressions of interest for the scholarship funding close on May 3rd; those interested can register here: http://www.womenandleadership.org/register.html
