Social Bee NI creates quite a buzz

Social Bee NISocial Media Consultancy, Social Bee NI, is one of only two businesses in Northern Ireland to have been selected for the UK wide Small Business Saturday’s Top 100. Founded by award-winning online marketer, social media consultant and trainer Louise Brogan four years ago, Social Bee NI has created quite the buzz around Northern Ireland! Specialising in strategic planning for social media, the consultancy supports local businesses from a range of industries, from the travel, public and legal sectors, to estate agents, florists, cake bakers, charities and Ulster University, to name a few.

Now in its fifth year in the UK, Small Business Saturday promotes a wide variety of small businesses ranging from martial arts, to wildlife artists and hula hoop instructors. It is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign which highlights the success of small businesses and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support the small businesses in their communities. It is quite often seen as something of an antidote to Black Friday and Cyber Monday which sees deep discounting on the big sales days which tend to favour bigger firms.

Small Business Saturday’s Bus will visit Belfast on Thursday of this week as part of its UK tour which takes place in the run up to their annual event at Downing Street on 2nd December 2017. On this day, customers from across the UK go out and support all different types of small businesses whether they are online, in offices, or in stores.

Speaking about the UK wide recognition, Social Bee NI Director, Louise said, “We are delighted to be selected as one of Small Business Saturday’s Top 100. It is an incredible achievement to be one of only two businesses selected from Northern Ireland. It is amazing how far we have come in just four years and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Social Bee NI. I am also really looking forward to attending a special reception planned at 10 Downing Street with the Chancellor of the Exchequer.”

Director of Small Business Saturdays, Michelle Owens, exclaims, “It is fantastic to be running our fifth year of Small Business Saturday and this year we have a wide variety in store. Our campaign is doing better year after year and we know that 2017 will be no different.  Small Business Saturday has been invaluable to hundreds of small businesses across the UK, allowing them to gain new customers and revenue whilst also introducing them to a small business community where they can share ideas and experiences!”
