Secrets nightclub wins ‘Nightclub of the Year’ for the third year in a row –

| June 26, 2017

Secrets NightclubThe coveted title of ‘Nightclub of the Year’ has been bestowed and it’s no secret who the winner is: Secrets Nightclub based in Magherafelt, owned by Henry & Teresa McGlone, was awarded the prestigious title at the recent 2017 Licensed & Catering News awards earlier this month. The win recognises the venue for its electric atmosphere and world-class entertainment.

This is the third year running that Secrets Nightclub has picked up the ‘Nightclub of the Year’ award – an accolade the venue is proud to celebrate with the announcement of further investment in the club and an entertainment line-up to rival any club this side of Ibiza.

Following a £1.5m investment in the venue in 2014, Secrets Nightclub was born in a haze of atmospheric smoke machines, thumping bass and mesmerising lighting – coupled with appearances from some of the most recognisable international DJs on the club circuit.

The venue has grown year-on-year and plans are in place to invest further significantly in the months ahead, creating up to 20 new roles at the award-winning club.

Commenting on the recent win owner, Henry McGlone, says: “Our accolades and growing customer base is testament to the hard work delivered by the whole team. It is through dedicated teamwork that has allowed us to make the strides we have in such a short space of time.

“But we know we need to keep innovating and investing to ensure we stay ahead of the curve. We pride ourselves on producing the best customer experience, ensuring we have the best range of drinks on offer and an expansive mix of entertainment; inspired by other world-class venues.

“We are excited about the future. As a leading employer within the NI hospitality sector, we currently employ over 150 staff across the three venues and I want to take this opportunity to thank them and our customers for their unwavering loyalty.”

Henry & Teresa McGlone are also the owners of sister venues Dormans Bar and Mary’s Bar. One of the last legacy pubs remaining in Ireland, Dormans Bar underwent a major transformation following a half million-pound investment, reopening in August 2016. Mary’s Bar is no stranger to the limelight either having won both Licensed Catering News’ ‘Bar of the Year’ and Pubs of Ulster’s ‘Urban Pub of the Year’ in 2016.

Teresa McGlone, added: “What we have achieved with our three venues and continue to develop is the breadth of offering. Each establishment is tailored to provide a unique experience to our customers. From premium products, using a variety of local suppliers and drinks from around the world; to the different entertainment on offer in each venue.

“Three award-winning venues, based in Mid-Ulster, that cater to every demographic from families, to partygoers and couples.”
