| June 14, 2017

PANIThe Publicity Association of Northern Ireland’s (PANI) fourteenth Awards are now open for entries.  The 2017 Awards feature five core categories including television, radio, outdoor, press and digital with specialisms identified in each sector.  The contribution of media owners will also be recognised across two dedicated categories.

Just added to this year’s line-up will be an International Award category sponsored by The Sound House and Spot On TV.  This will seek to recognise locally created work that has been implemented in markets outside Northern Ireland.  A gold and silver award is available in each media – TV, outdoor, radio, press, digital, magazine – and will be awarded at the discretion of the judges.

PANI Awards Chair Nuala Meenehan explained, “As IT has shrunk the world in terms of access, it has also opened up a much bigger market for our locally produced work.  Increasingly we are seeing a growth in creative exporting and as such it seemed appropriate that this trend was recognised in our Awards.  We are also delighted to welcome onboard The Sound House and Spot On TV as sponsors of this new addition.”

Two further categories have been added for 2017.  A social media award with the Digital Advertising category and Magazines has been included.  Also new is an award recognising the best mixed media campaign reflecting a creative idea of strategy integrated across a number of media channels.

“The PANI Awards website is now live to receive entries and we would encourage applicants to make their submissions over the next few weeks and if possible, well before the closing date of midnight on Sunday 13th August 2017,” added Nuala.

The judging panel, chaired by Billy Mawhinney, Creative Director, WJPM, London, will begin the selection process on 14th August 2017 and continue over a 6-week period.
