Jet2 adds capacity to the Canary Islands in response to demand

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has added almost 10,000 return seats to the Canary Islands from Belfast International Airport between January and April next year, in response to increased demand for Winter Sun and holidays during the Easter period.

The leading leisure airline and package holiday specialist has demonstrated its commitment to the base by putting on more flights to Lanzarote and Tenerife, giving holidaymakers even more choice and flexibility.

The announcement represents 26 additional return services in total, and further expands the company’s programme from Belfast International Airport.

The expansion includes:

  • Additional weekly Tuesday services to Lanzarote from February 11th through to 21st April, perfectly timed for both the February school holidays and Easter. It meansJet2.com and Jet2holidays will operate up to three weekly services to Lanzarote during this period.
  • A further Monday service to Tenerife from 13th January to 20th April, providing even more choice, meaning up to four weekly flights to this popular Canary Islands hotspot from early in the year.

Jet2 adds capacity to the Canary Islands in response to demand The Canary Islands continue to be a year-round favourite with local holidaymakers. On top of these additional services to Lanzarote and Tenerife, the company also offers year-round services to Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura from Belfast International Airport. This scale makes the company the UK’s largest tour operator to the Canary Islands.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “We have responded quickly to extra demand for flights and holidays to Lanzarote and Tenerife, by adding more of our award-winning flights and ATOL protected package holidays from Belfast International Airport. This means holidaymakers now have even more choice and flexibility when it comes to Winter Sun and holidays outside of the main summer season, including during the February school holidays and Easter.”

Uel Hoey, Business Development Director at Belfast International Airport said: “We welcome these extra flights to Lanzarote and Tenerife with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays and we know they will be extremely popular with local holidaymakers. We have a great partnership with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays and look forward to working with them ever more closely.”
