Diaceutics first tenant at Kings Hall Health and Wellbeing Park

The first tenant to sign up to the new precision medicine hub Dataworks at the Kings Hall Health and Wellbeing Park  has been announced as Diaceutics. 

The local company – which is listed on the London Stock Exchange – has taken 10,000 square feet of space in the park’s purpose-built Dataworks development, which is dedicated to companies involved in IT/data management within the healthcare industry. 

Diaceutics will move into Dataworks as an anchor tenant with similar peer-data-enabled companies targeted as tenants for the remaining space. The vision behind Dataworks is provide a secure and collaborative space for companies to focus on the rapidly growing and highly valuable healthcare data market.  

Construction of Dataworks is due to begin at the end of 2019 with a scheduled completion date of the fourth quarter of 2020. 

Diaceutics founder Peter Keeling said: “We are hugely excited to be moving our  growing data team in Belfast into the first precision medicine hub in Northern Ireland. The benefits of co-habiting at Dataworks with synergistic businesses will be considerable and will spark innovation for all.  Healthcare data is the currency driving improvements in precision medicine globally and creating this centre of excellence will allow us to share data, insights, space and connections in a hive-like environment which will energise the sector.” 

Diaceutics works with pharmaceutical companies to analyse data from health insurance claims and from clinical labs in order to improve treatment for cancer, auto-immune heptatis and other conditions in the future. It employs around 100 people globally across its offices in Belfast, Dundalk , New Jersey and Singapore. 

The company is the first occupier to be confirmed as a tenant at the Kings Hall Health and Wellbeing Park and has been welcomed by David Burrows, Director at Benmore Octopus. 

He said: “Diaceutics fits perfectly with the vision we had for a precision medicine hub at the Kings Hall Health and Wellbeing Park, one which will draw other, similar businesses and help create a collaborative hub where expertise and knowledge are shared. The deal marks the next milestone for the park which will be a flagship development in integrated healthcare in Northern Ireland and across the UK.

CBRE and Colliers are joint lettings agents of the Kings Hall Health and Wellbeing Park.

The development of the Kings Hall Health and Wellbeing Park will see the iconic Kings Hall building – which has been vacant since 2013 – and surrounding site transformed into the most innovative health and wellbeing hub in the UK. A GP hub is set for the Kings Hall where the co-location of up to 32 GPs and other trust-led primary care services can be accommodated in modern, fit-for-purpose accommodation. The extended Kings Hall site – formerly the Balmoral showgrounds – will also include care for the elderly and assisted living accommodation, a mixed-use medical facility, and a multi-storey car park.
