As we step into Spring, the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice has launched a timely new campaign. ‘Time to Care’ is asking companies across Northern Ireland to help provide direct care to local life-limited children by agreeing to fund their very own Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice nurse.
Launched with founding partner VanRath Recruitment, Time to Care encourages companies to make a monthly contribution towards the salary of a Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice nurse over the next 12 months. In return for helping the charity to plan its workforce needs for the year ahead companies will learn all about the nurse’s day-to-day role at the Children’s Hospice. They will receive regular updates on the work of their nurse as well as the opportunity to meet them at staff engagement days.
Time to Care is a unique offer for businesses who are keen to demonstrate how they can have a direct positive impact in their community. Not only will their support help children with a life limiting illness, but it will extend into much needed support for the wider family.
Leading professional recruitment firm VanRath have been the first to put their name to the project, announcing a one year partnership in which they have committed to an agreed monthly contribution towards the salary costs of Nurse Karen McKee.
Speaking about the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice initiative, Wayne Sullivan, Managing Director of VanRath said: “There is increasing evidence of the positive impact of corporate-charity partnerships and the economic imperative for businesses and charities to secure more from less. As the leader in the professional recruitment sector in Northern Ireland, we take our Corporate Social Responsibility seriously – rather than simply writing a one-off cheque we saw an opportunity with the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice to build an on-going partnership which will deliver tangible benefits to the children who need it most within our own community.”
“We’ve been delighted to welcome Karen already to our offices in Belfast, where her experience and knowledge really brought it home to the staff why the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice e is a lifeline to so many children and families locally.”
“We hope our collaboration with the Children’s Hospice will not only give them much needed support, but also inspire other businesses to support in the long term and make a real difference in helping them deliver their vital work.”
Marcus Cooper, Fundraising & Marketing Manager at Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice said: “Like our founding partner VanRath, the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice is an effective and professional organisation with which companies can partner. Our nurses provide high quality care in a safe place for families and do everything to make sure each child has the best quality of life possible while they are with us.”
“We know that companies take their social responsibility seriously. ‘Time to Care’ is unique and will help to provide real engagement for companies, their staff and customers locally. It will also crucially enable us to budget ahead as we seek to support as many children as we can.”
