Thinking About Starting a Business?

| September 28, 2015

starting a businessaaaIf you listen to the media right now, they are spreading a message of fear and uncertainty. Times are tough, or so it would seem, and job security should be your highest priority according to those who profess to be in the know.

But according to business and investment expert Reuben Singh, there has never been a better time to get into business than right now.

In part he says this is because it is so easy to start a business now compared to how it was in the past. There is a lot of information available, access to a global market via the Internet, and plenty of resources available that you can go to for assistance.

The Internet has also made it easier and much less expensive for people to connect, and it has provided many different ways for people to connect. It has also made a whole accessible to people who previously may not have had access to it due to disability, poverty, or isolation.

It’s also easier to get finance. For example there are all those crowd funding options available these days. Those aren’t for everyone though. They often come with a huge amount of responsibility attached, and sometimes the fees can be steep, and there may be taxes to be paid.

For another option, we could look to Reuben Singh again with his Isher Capital venture. It’s a new style of merchant banking and angel investing specifically designed for entrepreneurs. You’ll need to put in a lot of effort to impress them with your idea, and even after you have done, you’ll still have to pay back whatever they lend you or surrender a share in your business.

There are also more ways to actually sell your products or services (eBay, Shopify, etc.) and more ways to promote your products. You can create virtual teams and collaborate from anywhere in the world without ever meeting once in person.

So, for example, if you were starting a website design business, you might have a graphic designer in Adelaide, a coder in Boston, a content writer in Cairo, and an editor in Dublin. All of these different people contribute to the project in some way, but there’s no reason at all why they really need to ever be in the same physical space, because it’s simply not necessary any more.

That’s what Singh means when he says it is easier than ever and there has never been a better time to get into business.

So with all of these fantastic things making it easier than ever for you to get started in business, why aren’t you doing it? Maybe it’s because you don’t know what it is you want to do. You need to have an idea first, then you research, then you get funding, and then you put your plan into action.

It really is as simple as that, as long as you don’t make mistakes on any of those steps. With low costs, easy access, plenty of information and support, it is really worth at least making an attempt.
