Tech meetup Friday Night Mashup Belfast returns

Iconic figure of the local music scene and founder of the infamous Good Vibrations record shop, Terri Hooley with Friday Night Mashup organiser Katie McQuillan. Terri will be speaking at the Friday Night Mashup on June 13. US tech supremos Jon Vanhala and Matthew Gonzales, and Andy McCartney from Microsoft ventures in London will also address the event. Up to 400 people are expected to descend on Titanic’s Dock & Pumphouse on Friday June 13 to hear from Jon Vanhala from Thesis Venture Studios and Matthew Gonzales from appbackr.

Jon has worked with some of world’s top music talent, including Jay-Z, Kanye West, Nikki Minaj and Rihanna. Matthew Gonzales is advisor to appbackr – a platform with more than 200 million users worldwide. They will be joined by London-based head of Microsoft Ventures Andy McCartney, a technical guru with 16 years hands-on development experience.

Rounding up this international event will be iconic figure of the local music scene and founder of the famous Good Vibrations record shop, Terri Hooley.

The Friday Night Mashup is rapidly establishing itself as a strong force on the Northern Ireland networking scene, with the latest meetup promising to be the biggest and best yet.

Supported by headline sponsor Concentrix, and Invest NI, Cleaver Fulton Rankin, Little Big Shot, NI Science Park, Propel and Queen’s University. June’s event will be held in an alternative venue – a big top circus tent – with free beer and BBQ and music coming from a breakthrough local band.
