| September 12, 2017

NI Family Business ForumPictured at the new Infiniti Car Showroom in Belfast are (L-R) Darren McDowell and Patrick Leonard, Harbinson Mulholland with Stephen Stewart, Mervyn Stewart Ltd who recently opened the first ever Infiniti showroom on the Island of Ireland

In 2016, The NI Family Business Forum held “The Big Family Business Breakfast” celebrating the work and produce of family businesses from across Northern Ireland.  During 2017 we intend to continue celebrating this vibrant sector but this time, we are going on the road with a series of regional breakfast events across NI over the next 12 months.

The forum was established by Harbinson Mulholland Chartered Accountants to give family businesses the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas and learn from each other in a friendly, sociable and private setting.

Hosted in partnership with Ulster University Business School, our Autumn programme will see the forum take to the road visiting Cookstown, Ballymena and Craigavon during October before the main forum session which will take place in Belfast on 14th November.

Darren McDowell, Partner at Harbinson Mulholland says “Our theme for this season is “Resilient,  Ready and Rolling up Your Sleeves” and it’s often been said that of all businesses, those owned and run by families can tend to show more resilience than others. Such businesses account for a huge proportion of NI’s business sector, employ large numbers of people and contribute hugely to the financial wellbeing of local communities, with the Top 50 family businesses in NI employing almost 33,000 people.

“Our events this season seek to showcase that resilience and we have lined up some fantastic speakers from very successful family businesses to share their stories”

Each breakfast event will run from 8.30am-10.30am and guests will enjoy networking opportunities, and a delicious cooked breakfast whilst listening to a family business from the local area share their story.
