Netwerk set to take media and marketing to new heights

netwerkA new collective for young people in media and marketing has arrived to Northern Ireland. Netwerk is a fun and focused collective, aimed at encouraging young people in marketing, PR, digital and media roles to connect, collaborate and create.

Netwerk’s first event, an introduction to the collective, took place in April with events now scheduled to take place throughout 2017.

Established by Grainne Glenny, PR Manager at Clearbox and Sarah Fox, PR manager at LK Communications, Netwerk is in response to the demand from their peers for an accessible and inclusive group for both media and marketing professionals to network.

Netwerk has made every effort to ensure it remains a collaborative effort, with membership completely free of charge and committee involvement open to everyone. Members have the opportunity to suggest ideas, organise events and bring concerns to the table, to shape Netwerk’s success and ensure it remains reflective of the needs of young media and marketing folk.

The sharing of contacts, knowledge and skills is actively encouraged to promote a culture of collaboration and strengthen members’ influence in the industry.

A mentoring system is available to junior members, offering them the opportunity to pair up with their experienced peers, calling on them for advice and support when needed.
Netwerk will welcome international and local industry veterans to be part of its events and discussions, to bring the most useful and practical advice to members; from generating new business, building contacts to adapting to the changing media landscape.

Sarah Fox said; ‘Netwerk has a noble purpose at its heart in that it aims to bring the younger, newer members of media and marketing together and we want to position Netwerk as 100 per cent collaborative and responsive to member feedback, right from the start. As a collective, Netwerk is an entirely inclusive group, offering everyone the opportunity shape its future, strengthening our place as individuals in the industry, as we move along together within it.’

Grainne Glenny said; ‘We all have different skillsets and varying levels experience and so can learn a lot from each other as we move forward together. Both Netwerk Membership and events will be completely free, encouraging and facilitating participation and this particularly is something we’re really proud of. There has been a great response to Netwerk so far and we’re working really hard to develop this project into a lasting and meaningful presence in the industry’.
