Autoline Insurance Group announced today that it has raised £9,110 for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland (AANI). As the company’s selected hero charity of the year, Autoline has raised the total through a wide variety of fundraising efforts across its five branches in 2018.
This impressive figure will fund AANI support work across Northern Ireland, delivering patient care when life-threatening incidents occur.
Employees from the various branches in Ballymena, Coleraine, Downpatrick, Enniskillen, and Newry got involved with numerous activities to raise funds for the local charity. Events included street collections, raffles, hamper giveaways, quiz nights and spin-a-thons, while Autoline’s head office in Newry held a series of Taco Tuesdays, ‘Fry-days’, Bakes Offs, healthy breakfast mornings and a Santa’s Grotto experience.
Suzanne Curtis, Marketing Manager, Autoline Insurance Group said: “Everyone at Autoline is delighted to announce the final total raised for AANI, our charity partner for 2018. The Air Ambulance is making an amazing difference across Northern Ireland. Employees across our five branches got fully behind the fundraising efforts, putting on fantastic events to reach this amount.
At Autoline, when we say we are passionate about supporting the local community we really mean it. Our Respect the Road road safety education programme has reached over 50,000 young people and we have strong links with Northern Ireland’s farming community. Since the outset of the partnership we knew that AANI’s remarkable work would be a perfect fit with the company’s ethos. We are excited to continue supporting AANI into 2019 and are determined to help even more.”
Kerry Anderson, AANI’s Head of Fundraising, said: “Serious or life-threatening situations can and do happen regularly and, on average, every single day in Northern Ireland one individual finds themselves in desperate need of the AANI service. We are dedicated to delivering the very best possible patient care, so our service is often the difference between life and death. Since our first deployment in July 2017 the HEMS team have been tasked to attend 672 incidents. Given the level of need and the fact that each day we need to raise £5,500; partnerships like this one are greatly appreciated and we are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Autoline.”
AANI is a local charity that provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for Northern Ireland, together with our partners at the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS). The service brings urgent medical assistance to anywhere in the province, operating seven days a week for 12 hours per day. It can get to anywhere in Northern Ireland in approximately twenty-five minutes.
This Doctor / Paramedic service benefits those whose lives are at serious risk following significant injury or trauma. Effectively the service brings emergency hospital care direct to the casualty. AANI needs to raise £2million each year to maintain this service, so public and corporate donations are crucial. If you would like to donate, organise an event or could spare some time volunteering, please contact Air Ambulance NI by email at [email protected] or call 028 9262 2677.
